JDLink™ Boost Delivers Next-Level Machine Connectivity for Aussie Farmers
Crestmead, Queensland (17 July, 2025) – John Deere’s JDLink™ Boost has officially passed its toughest critics — Aussie farmers — by delivering consistent satellite-powered connectivity in areas where mobile coverage falls short.
Connectivity is a well-known hurdle for regional agriculture, but this challenge is now being tackled with advanced satellite integration.
JDLink Boost, developed through a collaboration between John Deere and Starlink (SpaceX), gives farmers a powerful new tool to unlock the full potential of precision ag technology, even in remote locations.
John Deere Australia and New Zealand Production and Precision Ag Marketing Manager, Royce Bell, said the upgrade was tested in real-world farming situations including cotton picking, spraying, and seeding in both Queensland and New South Wales.
“JDLink Boost is a game-changer for farmers in rural and remote areas – it streamlines connectivity and provides seamless access to critical data and your team at the time you need it most for informed and timely decision-making,” Mr Bell said.
“Farmers in areas with marginal mobile service coverage on their farms can now connect and take full advantage of John Deere’s precision agriculture applications and all of their benefits.”
Tested, Trusted, and Now Rolling Out
John Deere’s Max Cusack, Manager of Production Systems Services, confirmed the solution would now be available to all customers across Australia and New Zealand after successful testing.
“From the testing we have seen the ability to stay connected to allow farmers to make better decisions from the cab thanks to the guest wi-fi,” Mr Cusack said.
“And more importantly, it allows managers to see how connected machines are operating in real time across their farm and fleet.”
The tech was officially unveiled on the 9RX 830 at FarmFest in Toowoomba in June, sparking strong interest across the farming community.
“Farmers all around the country will be able to see JDLink Boost on the 9RX 830 demo machines this year, but even better, they can put it into their own machines for this harvest and reap the benefits,” Mr Cusack said.
Driving Smarter Farming
JDLink Boost is a core part of John Deere’s push to enhance machine intelligence and interconnectivity. Its integration improves the functionality of systems like:
- John Deere Operations Center™ – enabling real-time planning, monitoring and analysis
- Remote diagnostics and alerts – detecting performance issues before they cause downtime
- Live data sharing in-field – for smarter resource use and reduced input waste
- See & Spray™ Select – sending machine and agronomic data instantly for immediate action
- Harvest automation – helping optimise combine performance during peak seasons
- John Deere Connected Support™ – including tools like Expert Alerts and Remote Display Access for faster service
According to Mr Bell, the improved connectivity will help farmers cut downtime, plan proactively, and maximise uptime.
“With real-time access to data we can help farmers schedule maintenance activities at convenient times, reduce unexpected breakdowns and ensure equipment is always operating at its best,” he said.
“JDLink Boost enables secure transmission to Connected Support, allowing technicians to remotely diagnose issues with equipment and speeding up repairs, saving farmers time and money.”
