Farmers from across the country gathered at AgQuip to witness the official launch of the John Deere 9RX 830, the brand’s most powerful production tractor to date — a 830-horsepower powerhouse engineered for maximum performance, speed, and productivity.
Leading a trio of newly released 9RX models powered by the next-generation JD18 engine, the 9RX 830 was introduced alongside its equally impressive counterparts — the 9RX 770 (770 hp) and 9RX 710 (710 hp). All three are designed to boost productivity for broadacre and row crop operations through greater hydraulic flow, flexible configurations, and unmatched pulling power.
A New Era for Australian Broadacre Farmers
One of the first farmers to see the 9RX 830 in action, Charlie Cush from Warialda, NSW, was struck by the sheer scale and performance of the machine.
“It’s absolutely huge — and it looks incredible,” said Mr Cush.
“They’ve upgraded everything: size, tech, machinery. It’s built to do bigger jobs faster, which is exactly what we need to beat the rain and keep planting on schedule.”

Royce Bell, Production and Precision Ag Marketing Manager for John Deere, explained the development process and the overwhelmingly positive results after five months of on-farm use across Australia.
“We’ve seen the 9RX 830 in action across seeding and tillage, and it’s delivering big productivity gains,” he said.
“In some cases, it’s reduced planting windows by several days, which has huge value. And in tillage, its ability to maintain consistent ground speed has led to much better soil outcomes.”

While the 9RX 830 turns heads for its massive size, its usability surprised many AgQuip visitors. Once inside the redesigned CommandView™ 4 Plus cab, operators discovered:

“People were genuinely surprised by how easy it was to operate,” Mr Bell added.
