New John Deere Tool Helps Farmers Track Costs and Boost Profitability in Real-Time
Crestmead, Queensland (3 October, 2025) – Farmers throughout Australia and New Zealand now have access to John Deere’s Harvest Profit, a comprehensive software platform that simplifies cost tracking and provides near real-time insights into farm profitability across different crops and fields.
Harvest Profit is a dynamic farm financial management tool that integrates seamlessly with John Deere Operations Center™, delivering actionable data and analytics to help improve decision-making and overall farm performance.
Designed to give farmers greater visibility into their business operations, the platform features key tools such as grain inventory tracking, financial reports, and cost-of-production metrics—allowing users to assess performance at a glance.
John Deere’s Manager of Production System Specialists, Max Cusack, said the software empowers producers to manage their finances with the same confidence they bring to managing their crops.
“Harvest Profit uses multiple scenarios and templates and intuitive integration with Operations Center to provide clear insights into costs, revenues and profits, so that farmers can make data-driven financial decisions,” Mr Cusack said.
“Harvest Profit can provide the answers to questions such as what’s my cost of production? What’s my profitability for each field? If I plant more of a certain crop, how does that impact my profitability and overheads? How much production have I sold and how much crop inventory do I have on hand?”
He added that growers in both countries are increasingly focused on finding efficiency gains to improve bottom-line results—and Harvest Profit delivers the clarity they need to measure and optimise these key metrics.

Designed for mobility and ease of use, the software includes detailed profit and loss (P&L) tracking at the farm, field, and crop level; grain contract management; machinery data insights (including hours, utilisation, and cost); scenario planning; and inventory monitoring.
According to Ben Longlet, John Deere Digital Specialist – Harvest Profit, American producers have been using the software for the past decade, and it’s become a critical part of their financial decision-making process.
“In the US, farmers rely on Harvest Profit as a tool to help them make decisions as diverse as an equipment purchase, land acquisition or whether to apply another pass of fertiliser,” Mr Longlet said.

“While most farmers don’t spend more than an hour per month working on their Harvest Profit account, they are usually checking the data and reports daily through its web and mobile apps.
“This strong integration makes it easy to add financials to the data you’re already collecting on the farm, and unlike other tools that focus on the past, Harvest Profit enables farmers to analyse profitability so they can confidently create budgets for the coming season.”
